The 2018 Varsity Team Rally

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

TCF Bank Stadium, University of Minnesota

Join us at this year's event as we strive to reach our goal
of raising $1million by 2020 for the important cancer research taking place at the
Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota.

Varsity Team Rally 2018 will focus on Advancements in Precision Medicine Research--using biomarkers to individualize cancer prevention and personalize treatment.

Biomarkers help predict what is unique about the individual--what puts them at a greater or lesser risk of cancer and what influences a body's ability to respond to treatment. These biomarkers, found in human tissue, blood and body fluids, may allow researchers to predict--and alter--the course of cancer in patients.

The use of biomarkers is a common thread connecting precision-medicine-focused research across the Masonic Cancer Center, from identifying environmental carcinogens and exposures, to developing genetic testing which more precisely assesses cancer risk, to using the patient's own immune system to target cancer.

Through immunotherapy, chemoprevention, and clinical trials, Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota is redefining ways to   diagnose, treat, and prevent cancer--making the most promising cancer treatments available to all Minnesotans -- close to home.
